I recently had the opportunity to work with children at a school in County Durham. My brief was to produce a mural in the playground to celebrate the merging of 2 schools - an infant and a junior school. I decided the best course of action was to paint onto 5 boards, then fix to the outside wall, so we had a great flat surface as a canvas!

The staff required the children be involved and so we planned and worked together to produce a mural everyone 'had a hand in'.

The children were a great inspiration, coming up with loads of ideas, I worked with them around a central idea, and guided them so they produced their own images, from draft stage, through to drawing and painting on the boards.

Final results show a 5 board mural, over 6 metres wide by almost 2.5 metres high!
